3 of Swords, Reversed

Probably my least favorite card of any Tarot deck is the 3 of Swords. It is often depicted as a heart with 3 swords stabbing through it. As if one sword wasn't good enough, or even two. No, all 3 piercing blades have to cut in.

This card often predicts disappointment, heartache, suffering, and sadness. In the reversed position, is it any better? Only in that the pain will pass more quickly. If you are doing a reading the surrounding cards will help to shed more light on the subject on where your troubles are coming from and possibly what you can do to help the situation.

The best reading I ever had with this card was a situation in which the person wanted a particular outcome but it was not to be. Fortunately, what was waiting for the person was even better. They only needed to let the one thing go in order to embrace a brighter future. Now, there's a 3 of Swords I can get behind.
